An event like ScaleACT takes lots of willing hands to pull together and volunteers are always welcome! Here are the areas that we need a hand with:
Venue Setup (Friday afternoon, from 3:00pm onwards). This includes moving tables, chairs and helping with other general prep work (e.g. putting up signs, setting up displays, assisting the traders, etc).
Competitor Marshal (08:30am to 11:30am on Saturday). This involves working with our Chief Judges to help competitors find the right place on the competition tables to position their models.
Front Desk / Reception (90 minute shifts, both days). Greeting visitors, accepting entry fees and answering general questions. Be the smiling face of the society! :-)
Swap & Sell (90 minute shifts, both days). A bit different this year, with an online sales system to record sales and payments via Square and cash. Expected to be easier to run, but will require a little on-the-job training.
Competition Assessment (Saturday from 1:30pm). Working with the Chief Judge team to perform first pass assessments of competition models.
Roving Marshal (90 minute shifts, both days). Being on hand to help as required. Keeping an eye out for security issues, crowd-control, and assorted questions from the public.
Venue Clean-up (Sunday from 3:00 pm onwards). As soon as the event closes, we need to pack everything up, and lots of volunteers will get the venue tidied up as quickly as possible!
If you can offer a bit of time over the weekend, please fill in the following form to let us know how you can lend a hand.
