A Companion Club is a form of informal social agreement between two or more geographically distant model societies/clubs/associations for the sole purpose of promoting, sharing and supporting the hobby of scale modelling in our local areas, with the shared goal of: “The hobby is stronger together.”
This is in no-way the formalising of any formal modelling body. This initiative is to recognise informal assistance and friendship that has been happening for some years.
The sole reason for this is to formalise a friendship between two model societies/clubs/associations to provide a useful forum and to exchange ideas on how we operate our societies/clubs/associations and/or our major annual events.
In addition to this, we will promote each other’s events through our social media pages and websites, and encourage people when visiting each location to drop in and visit each other’s meetings and events. It will also maintain a formal avenue of communication between the two Companion Clubs that will endeavour to outlast current and ongoing committee members.
Concept/Objectives:
Posting flyers for each other's events on our websites and social media pages
Advertising our sister club status on our websites and social media pages
Maintaining emails for committee members annually
Sponsoring a category at each other’s major annual event
Conducting online social activities, such as group builds/blitz builds
Catching up as required for online catch-up meetings to discuss ideas, trends and or obstacles
