We have arranged a series of modelling skills workshops presented by some of Australia and the world’s best modellers.

Saturday 7 November

1: Greg Lester. Ship Railings

Set sail into the world of shipbuilding, being guided through how to tackle one of the harder points of a ship modelling with a world-renowned ship builder.

2: John (Spud) Murphy, Weathering tracks

One of the world’s best AFV modellers, all the way from England! Will take you through his methods of weathering tracks.

3: Gary Wickham, Back to Basics on Aircraft

One of Australia’s best aircraft modellers will give you wings! To tackle the core basics of aircraft modelling to give your next aircraft project some more lift.

4: David Parker, All Things Parker

David Parker, world-renowned modeller and editor of AFV Modeller, joins us from the UK! David will share who he is, what he gets up to, and then open the floor for questions.

5: Peter Shum, Air Brushing

Ready to elevate your finish? Peter Shum is stepping up to walk us through essential airbrushing techniques and tricks of the trade, then open the floor for your questions!

Sunday 8 November

6: Calvin Tan, AK Gen3 Painting Systems

World-leading figure painter, all the way from Singapore! Will take you through a quick guide to getting the best from the new AK Gen3 paints and new quick gen paints.

7: Luka Kasuba, Concrete Effects

All models need a solid foundation, as solid as concrete! Lukas Kasuba, one of Australia’s best, will take you through his go-to techniques for a realistic concreate base.

8: Marrisa Christina, Trusting the Process

Have your painting skills transformed, learn advanced painting techniques using unconventional methods, to achieve a fantastic overall finish, with this famed Gunpla builder.

Workshop Location

The location of the workshops room is in the mezzanine level overlooking the main floor, accessible by the stairs next to the ACTSMS display or the lifts at the back of the venue near the Swap & Sell entry.
